Nizamabad: Bodhan MLA Mohammed Shakeel Amer on Tuesday said he was ready to resign from the MLA’s post if Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind proves his allegations that there are Rohingyas staying in Bodhan.
Addressing the media here, Amer said the issue of obtaining passports was due to the negligence and failure of External Affairs ministry. “Telangana Police is top in the country, and in fact, it was they who cracked the issue of Bangladeshis managing to get fake passports due to the negligence of the External Affairs ministry,” he said, and demanded that the regional passport officer immediately resign from his post for issuing passports on the basis of fake documents to 32 persons with the same residential address.
Stating that CBI should take suo moto notice of the case and conduct an inquiry, the MLA said: “Aravind is a religious fanatic and he is trying to disturb peace and communal harmony by creating a rift between Hindus and Muslims.”
He said the Special Branch (SB) police only conduct an inquiry into an applicant’s address, and other issues like the period of stay and if there are any cases against him or her.
