Nizamabad: Six persons suffered burn injuries when decoration rods jutting out of a pandal carrying Durga Devi’s idol for immersion came in contact with high tension wires at Mosara mandal headquarters in Nizamabad district on Monday. Two of the injured are stated to be in critical condition and have been shifted to Bodhan area hospital.
A tractor trolley was used to transport the idol for immersion, and when the procession reached PACCS building, the pandal decoration came in contact with 12 KV high tension wires. Thatipamula Ravinder Goud and Shakal Naveen, who suffered serious injurious injuries, were shifted to Bodhan area hospital by police and villagers.
Villagers alleged that the incident occurred due to the negligence of TRANSCO officials since they had already requested the officials to switch off power supply in view of the procession.
