Siddipet: BRS leaders and cadre performed ‘palabishekham’ to portraits of the original Telangana Thalli statue across the erstwhile Medak district on Tuesday, opposing the government’s move to install a new statue on the Secretariat premises.
Huge numbers of women gathered in Siddipet town to perform the palabishekham while MLC Desapathi Srinivas joined them. Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas stated that removing Bathukamma from the new design was a conspiracy. The original Telangana Thalli witnessed the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs, he said, adding that the design was made when the Telangana movement was at its peak.
