Nalgonda: The prevailing conditions of COVID-19 pandemic have not shown impact on auction of laddus at Ganesh pandals in erstwhile Nalgonda district as devotees competed to get Ganesh laddus by participating in the auction.
The laddu of No.1 Ganesh pandal at Nalgonda was auctioned for Rs 6 lakhs, higher than last auction. A government employee Satheesh bought the auspicious laddu by quoting Rs. 6 lakhs in the auction. The auction value which started at 20,000 reached Rs 6 lakhs due to completion between the devotees to get the auspicious laddu.
The laddu of Ganesh pandal at Post Office in Suryapet was also fetched Rs 1,01,116. The auction of the laddu started at Rs 10,000 and crossed more than one lakh within 10 minutes.
In Kodad, the laddu of Ganesh pandal of Varthaka Sangam was also bid at Rs 1,20,000. More than 10 merchants participated in the auction.
Interestingly, laddu of a Ganesh pandal at Vallala village of Shaligowraram mandal sold at Rs 1,40,500 this year. A farmer Kollu Veera Reddy got Ganesh laddu by quoting the highest price in the auction.
People believe that getting Ganesh laddu would bring luck to them by solving their financial and health problems.
The Ganesh laddus at different colonies in the towns and villages also fetched good prices in the auction.
