Nalgonda: Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary’s mother K Shankaramma on Sunday urged the State government to conduct the birth and death anniversaries of her son officially.
Speaking at a media conference, she said that her son had sacrificed his life for the cause of Statehood. After setting himself ablaze at LB Nagar in Hyderabad during Telangana agitation, Srikantha Chary shouted slogans like ‘Jai Telangana’ and ‘Jai KCR’. The TRS government has the responsibility to respect the Telangana martyr in a better manner, she added.
Quashing reports by some media houses that she was feeling injustice was being meted out to her in the TRS, she said she was happy to be with the TRS and added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had told her that he was considering her as a family member. She further stated that she was confident that the Chief Minister would provide an opportunity to her in politics.
