No loss of life for Telangana police this year

Hyderabad: Even as 264 police personnel lost their lives in the line of duty across the country this year, there was no loss of life in the Telangana Police this year, according to a press release issued here on Tuesday.

This is against the toll of 326 police personnel, including three each IPS officers and Deputy Superintendents of Police, who lost their lives while fighting with Maoists in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and after the formation of Telangana till 2019.

As the Police Martyrs Day will be observed from Wednesday to October 31 in the name of Police Flag Day, a series of programmes is being planned in all Police Commissionerates and districts.

In Hyderabad, the department is organising a programme on Wednesday at the LB Indoor Stadium to pay tributes to police personnel who died while discharging duty.

Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali will pay tributes to the police martyrs at the event.
