Hyderabad: As fissures continue to surface among leaders in State Congress, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Friday warned that leaders, who skip party meetings or programmes, would not be given priority in allocation of key posts or tickets to contest elections.
For finalizing tickets to aspiring candidates in the next elections, the party high command would seek suggestions and recommendations from the State unit, he said at the party membership meeting here on Friday.
“After Congress comes to power, only those, who obtain party membership, will be given prominence. So, all the ticket aspirants will have to work hard for ensuring the success of digital membership dirve,” said Revanth Reddy.
With over 40 lakh digital membership registrations, Telangana Congress leads in the membership drive among all States. Efforts should be made to ensure 50 lakh registrations in the State, he said to the party leaders.
Those, who skip party programmes or fail to work for party’s cause, would not be allocated any posts or tickets, he said, adding “I will personally speak to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in this regard,”.
Meanwhile, the party has decided to conduct its Mana Ooru – Mana Poru public meeting in Yellareddy constituency, Kamareddy district on March 20.
