Karimnagar: Health Minister Eatala Rajender on Wednesday said there was little scope for a second wave of Coronavirus in Telangana State.
“Though there is no chance of a second wave, people should be alert and protect themselves against Covid-19 during the winter season,” the Minister said in an interaction with mediapersons in Veenavanka mandal.
Though the spread of second wave in the United Kingdom and other countries was rampant and deaths were also reported, there are no signs of a second wave in Telangana so far, he said, adding that in view of the prevailing situation in other countries, both Telangana as well as the Centre are conducting tests in airports, increased surveillance and sending travellers to isolation centres. Patients who test positive for Covid-19 are being shifted to hospitals for treatment, he said.
Stating that the Telangana government was well prepared to face any kind of situation, the Minister said all hospitals across the State were well equipped to conduct tests on symptomatic people and provide treatment to people.
Asking the people need not worry about the virus, he hoped that vaccine for coronavirus would be made available to the public soon.
