Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday urged government job aspirants to stay away from movies, social media and cricket for the next six months and to concentrate on studies.

Addressing job aspirants after inaugurating a coaching centre at Peerzadiguda Municipal Corporation, Rama Rao said this was the ideal time to stay away from mobile phones and to chalk out a foolproof strategy to achieve success in the upcoming recruitment exams and succeed in bagging a job in the public sector.

Launched in the wake of the State government’s recruitment announcement, the special coaching centre at Peerzadiguda will coach job aspirants for three to four months apart from providing them with food and snacks for free.

The Minister said such coaching centres were being established to make sure job aspirants do not end up spending anywhere between Rs.40,000 and Rs.50,000 at private coaching centres.

Rama Rao also urged students to utilise the services of the coaching centre, online learning platform T-SAT and services of the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to improve their skills.

Students should prepare for recruitment exams in a devoted manner and but should not lose heart or get disappointed if they do not get selected. Apart from government jobs, there are many other job opportunities in the private sector where you can excel, Rao said.

“Through the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS), a total of 19,000 private companies were established, out of which 13,000 are already operational while the remaining are under various stages of execution,” he said, adding that incentives were also given to companies to ensure they hire talented local youth.

He also said that for people who aim to become entrepreneurs and job creators, the State government has set up T-Hub, WE Hub and introduced self-employment programmes.

The government is also thinking of adopting new concepts wherein theory classes will be clubbed with on-ground experience in companies, a concept similar to the apprenticeship model being implemented in some countries like Germany, said the Minister, who also inaugurated a new road developed with Rs.26 crore in Peerzadiguda Municipal Corporation.

Rao also lauded the efforts of Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy for establishing the free coaching centre and directed elected representatives and officials to set up a digital library at the coaching centre.
