No water supply in parts of Hyderabad for 18 hours on October 27

Water supply will be disrupted in several parts of Hyderabad from 12 noon on October 27 to 6 am on October 28 due to HMDA’s pipeline extension works at Paradise Junction. HMWSSB urged residents to store sufficient water for the period

Hyderabad: There will be no water supply for 18 hours in several parts of the city from 12 noon on October 27 to 6 am on October 28.

The affected areas include Nallagutta, Prakashnagar, Mekalamandi, Buddh Nagar, Srinivasanagar, Patigadda reservoir limits, Bholakpur, Kavadiguda, Seethaphalmandi, Hasmathpet, Ferozguda, Gauthamnagar, apart from bulk consumers including SCR, MES, Begumpet Airport, Balamrai Pump House, Balamrai Checkpost, Bowenpally, and AOC Railway Colony.


The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), in a press release on Saturday, said, “As part of the construction of the elevated corridor from Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road, HMDA is undertaking the extension work of an 800 mm diameter MS pipeline belonging to the Water Board at Paradise Junction. The HMDA is carrying out junction work to connect the newly laid pipeline from Maredpally to Control Room with the MS pipeline at Sports Ground, Le-Royal Junction, and Balamrai.”

These works will be taken up from 12 noon on October 27 to 6 am on October 28. As a result, there will be a disruption in water supply within the reservoir areas for 18 hours, the release added.
