Hyderabad: Unseeded Nomaan Pappu of Tamil Nadu shocked fifth-seeded Kaavish Yadav of Haryana 21-16, 21-13 in the boys’ singles final of the All India Sub-Junior (under-13) Badminton Championship at Chetan Anand Badminton Academy here on Saturday.

In the girls’ section, Kyra Raina of Maharashtra completed a ‘double’, winning the singles title by defeating Johanna Ahilan of Karnataka 21-13, 21-12, and then combining well with Anya Proddatur of Telangana to score a 21-10, 21-15 win against B. Diya Anand and Aabha Jadhav of Telangana.


The results: All finals: Boys: Singles: Nomaan Pappu (TN) bt Kaavish Yadav (Har) 21-16, 21-13.
Doubles: Dash Dhotrad & N.D. Nakulan Hari (Kar) bt Ng Yaiphaba Singha & Yangba Meitei Thokchom (Mnp) 21-18, 19-21, 21-13.

Girls: Singles: Kyra Raina (Maha) bt Johanna Ahilan (Kar) 21-13, 21-12.
Doubles: Anya Proddatur (TG) & Kyra Raina (Maha) bt B. Diya Anand & Aabha Jadhav (TG) 21-10, 21-15.
