Hyderabad: Aarti Ravi, wife of actor and producer Jayam Ravi, has broken her silence after a year, sharing a deeply emotional statement about her ongoing divorce and her life as a single mother.

In a heartfelt message, Aarti revealed that she chose silence for the past year—not because she was weak, but because her sons needed peace more than she needed to defend herself. “I absorbed every accusation, every cruel whisper,” she wrote, “not because I didn’t have the truth, but because I didn’t want my children to carry the burden of choosing between parents.”

She said her reality has been far from the happy pictures seen on social media. Her divorce from Jayam Ravi is still in process, and she said the man she stood by for 18 years has walked away—not just from her, but from his responsibilities as a father.

Aarti spoke about how she has been taking care of everything alone, from meals and books to wiping the tears of her sons, aged 10 and 14. She said there has been no emotional or financial support from Jayam Ravi, and now, they are even facing eviction from their home—on his instructions.

“I am accused of being a gold digger,” she said. “If that were true, I would have protected my interests long ago. But I chose love over calculation.” She made it clear that she does not regret the love she gave, but she will no longer allow that love to be seen as weakness. “My children deserve stability, not silence. Every unanswered call and cold message are wounds they carry.”

Aarti stressed that she is not speaking as a wife or as a woman wronged, but as a mother protecting her children. “If I do not rise now, I fail them forever,” she wrote. This powerful message comes shortly after Jayam Ravi was seen at a wedding in Chennai with singer Kenishaa, who is rumoured to be in a relationship with him.

Aarti ended her message by requesting the media to stop calling her an “ex-wife” until the legal process is over. “This is not vengeance. This is not a show. This is a mother stepping into the fire—not to fight, but to protect.” Her statement has drawn strong reactions online, with many praising her courage and strength.
