Hyderabad: A day after categorically stating that his visit to New Delhi was not a political tour, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, he met the duo in New Delhi. He congratulated Priyanka Gandhi on her victory in the Wayanad parliamentary constituency bye-elections. Interestingly, this was after he stated on Monday that his trip did not have any political significance and that he was visiting the national capital only to attend Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla daughter’s marriage.

Defending his multiple visits to New Delhi, the Chief Minister had said Telangana had suffered crores of losses due to Central government’s political discrimination towards the State.

“We have to seek funds and get projects approved as it is a federal structure. We will go to New Delhi any number of times and get the funds due to the State,” Revanth Reddy had said at a press conference on Monday before leaving to New Delhi.

After meeting the AICC leaders, the Chief Minister also participated in the Congress party’s Samvidhan Rakshak Abhiyaan. Addressing the gathering, he said 92 percent of the caste census being conducted by the Telangana government was completed.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister met union Minister for Civil Aviation K Rammohan Naidu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
