Karimnagar: State BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has reacted sharply to Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao’s comments that the Central government did nothing for Telangana State.

“It is not proper on the part of Rama Rao to blame the Centre when it failed to submit Detailed Project Reports to the union government before seeking national project status for Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme,” Sanjay said, interacting with media persons after participating in Holi celebrations here on Friday. The BJP leader sought to absolve himself of any wrong-doing in the alleged absence of DPRs.

“Though the union government was ready to sanction funds for Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple under ‘Prasadam’ scheme, the State government was not taking the initiative to send proposals for funds. Despite my repeated appeals, the State government has not responded,” he alleged.

Stating that he was proud to call himself a Hindu, the BJP leader said Hindus do not get provoked easily through statements. “The BJP will teach a lesson to TRS that has been chanting minority mantra for the sake of MIM,” he said.

When asked about Rama Rao’s challenge to contest against BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar in Karimnagar, he said he will not respond to such comments.
