Notorious burglar held in Mancherial
Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police D Uday Kumar said that the accused, Shaik Usman, a cloth trader in Hyderabad, was booked in eight offences across Telangana
Mancherial: A notorious inter-district house burglar hailing from Hyderabad was arrested in Mancherial on Wednesday, and gold ornaments weighing 240 grams and 160 grams of silver ornaments were recovered from his possession.
Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police D Uday Kumar said that the accused, Shaik Usman, a cloth trader in Hyderabad, was booked in eight offences in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda and Karimnagar commissionerates besides in Jagtial and Mancherial districts. He was detained while moving suspiciously during search held in Mancherial bus stand.
During the course of interrogations, Usman confessed to committing crimes in order to lead a lavish lifestyle. He admitted that he was decamping gold and silver ornaments by breaking doors using an iron rod in the nights. He revealed that he was disposing of the booty in Hyderabad after stealing it from Mancherial district.
DCP stated that the trader was involved in eight house burglaries registered under the limits of Srirampur and Mancherial police stations in the year 2020. He said that Usman was arrested several times and was released on a bail in the past. Still, he did not mend ways and was indulging in house burglaries.
Uday Kumar commended Mancherial town Sub-Inspector V Praveen Kumar, Sub-Inspector Ashok belonging to finger print department, constables Diwakar, Srinivas, Brahmachary and Bharat for arresting the burglar by showing spontaneity. He presented cash rewards to the policemen.
