Hyderabad: Notorious fugitive Shaik Hyder, 60, who had escaped from the custody of Bhubaneshwar police after his arrest in connection with the abduction of a marble trader was nabbed by the Hyderabad City Police here on Thursday.

According to the police, Hyder, a native of Odisha and a suspect in a murder case too, was absconding after giving cops the slip a week ago in Bhubaneshwar. On information, the Hyderabad police last week had released his picture and conducted searches at a few places. They finally tracked him down and nabbed him on Thursday.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the Bhubaneshwar Commissioner and the Odisha Director-General of Police were informed about the arrest.
