Notorious house burglar arrested in Peddapalli

A notorious thief from Jagtial was arrested in Manthani on Saturday for allegedly committing house burglaries. Police said Vanam Ramu targeted locked houses, burgled valuables and pledged gold ornaments before using the money for lending and personal luxuries

Peddapalli: A notorious thief from Jagtial was arrested on charges of house burglaries in Manthani town on Saturday.

Briefing media persons on the details of the arrest, Godavarikhani ACP M Ramesh said that Vanam Ramu of Tharakarama Nagar in Jagtial was apprehended for committing offences at regular intervals. He was detained while moving suspiciously in the town during night patrolling by the police.

On being interrogated, Ramu confessed to committing the offences to meet his daily needs. He admitted to targeting locked houses. He revealed that he had burgled valuables from several houses in different parts of the district. He disclosed that he had pledged the gold ornaments. He told investigators that he used the money for lending and luxuries.

Ramesh commended Manthani Inspector B Swamy, Ramagiri SI T Srinivas, head constable Bhargav and constables D Ramesh, V Abhishek and B Raj Kumar for nabbing Ramu by showing spontaneity.
