Hyderabad: It was a novel way of celebrating International Chess Day.

A1 Chess Academy of Anantapur unveiled a 12×12 feet giant chessboard at the Police Training College (PTC) grounds.


Senior chess coach and Rayalaseema’s first International Arbiter, Ammineni Uday Kumar Naidu, stated that the World Chess Federation (FIDE) is celebrating the 101st Chess Day with the theme “Every Move Counts.” He added that playing chess contributes to intellectual development.

The giant chessboard set up at the PTC Ground was a major attraction.

The event was attended by Senior National Arbiter Govindarajulu, A1 Chess Academy coaches Vijay Kumar and Meharaj, All Anantapur Chess Association Chairman Balaraju, President Shiva Kumar, and Treasurer Inthuri Kishore Naidu.

Many players and parents participated in the event.
