At the meeting, instructions were issued to officials to establish cow shelters at the Veterinary University, colleges, agriculture university and temples premises across the State.
The Chief Minister also suggested that cow shelters be established in a sprawling 50-acre land with a lot of open space and facilities for grazing.
Instructing the officials to prepare a comprehensive plan to establish cow shelters with state-of-the-art facilities, he said active involvement of charitable organisations in the management and protection of cows should also be examined.
Prepare plans with full budget estimates, including construction cost, management and cattle care at the cow shelters, the Chief Minister said.
