Hyderabad: Presenting as a first of its kind concept in India, SVAG Pet Homes, a Hyderabad-based startup, on Thursday unveiled products for pets such as villas, pods and designer furniture.
Founders, Sushanth Kanneganti, Vishal Bothra, and co-founders, Gopal Varma, Anudeep Y, described ‘Barkitecture’ as animal-conscious architecture. It is a dog centric approach to the interior design in which a specific area of the home is modelled according to the pet’s personal needs and tastes.
Post Covid, the adoption of pets peaked as they provided vital companionship and emotional support during the pandemic. Now the pet parents are looking for designer homes for their pet friends or upgrade the existing ones or make designer improvements.
In this backdrop, SVAG Pet Homes has come up with its villas, pods and pet friendly furniture which assure the pets a personalised space to rest, recharge, and feel safe.
Barkkey has a manufacturing facility at Aramgarh in Hyderabad with a wide variety of products for B2B and B2C. It is a bootstrapped company and they have invested Rs.1.80 crore. Barkeky also launched Barkkey Foundation which apart from promoting responsible pet parenting is also dedicated to improving the lives of dogs through innovative and compassionate initiatives. From the profits earned from the products, the startup will support ten street dogs and is looking at volunteers to help in the endeavour.
