Now, postmen in Telangana will deliver summons and notices of CBI

The Telangana Postal Circle and CBI Hyderabad’s Anti-Corruption Branch have signed a three-year MoU to streamline the delivery and return of legal summons via Speed Post.

Hyderabad: Telangana Postal Circle and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption branch, Hyderabad, have entered into an MoU for the delivery and return of summons and notices through the Speed Post services.

The MoU, valid for three years, introduces a dedicated mechanism for handling summons with accountability, traceability and legal reliability and includes provisions for pickup, digital tracking, and handling of undelivered summons, according to a press release.

Under this MoU, the Telangana Postal Circle will provide an exclusive service to CBI Hyderabad for doorstep delivery of summons/notices through Speed Post BNPL, with a specialised arrangement for returning the signed acknowledgment copy.

In addition, end-to-end track and trace with SMS alerts, GPS coordinate capture at the time of delivery, and digital authentication of delivery by obtaining the addressee’s signature on the Postman’s smartphone screen, along with photograph capture, and upload to the central server as further proof of delivery are made possible, the release added.
