Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday said there was a massive Rs.150 crore sand scam in the Mining Department under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He said fake documents and receipts were created leading to the diversion of 1,50,000 tons of sand valued at Rs 150 crore. The perpetrators reportedly diverted the sand by creating false papers, claiming it was meant for the needs of Hyderabad Metro Water Works. This scandal, which took place within Revanth Reddy’s department, raised serious questions about the involvement or knowledge of government officials, he said.

The BRS working president demanded an immediate investigation into these sand thefts and called for strict action against those responsible. The BRS leader emphasized that such a large-scale scam could not have occurred without the knowledge of higher officials and urged for transparency in handling the matter.
