Hyderabad: If it has been your dream to fly to Space, then there is one way to at least partially fulfill it. Now, you can send your name to Space – all thanks to a new initiative by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

All you have to do is visit NASA’s official website and fill up a form with details like your name and pincode to get your ‘boarding pass’ free of cost. Artemis I will be the first uncrewed flight test of the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft. The flight paves the way toward landing the first woman and the first person of colour on the Moon. Add your name on the website (https://www.nasa.gov/send-your-name-with-artemis/) to have it included on a flash drive that will fly aboard Artemis I.

According to NASA, all eyes will be on the historic Launch Complex 39B when Orion and the Space Launch System (SLS) lift off for the first time from NASA’s modernised Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The mission will demonstrate their commitment and capability to extend human existence to the Moon and beyond.

Artemis I will be the first in a series of increasingly complex missions to build a long-term human presence at the Moon for decades to come.

It was intended to lift off at the end of last year, but was postponed and is now prepared to launch anytime from late May to mid-July.
