Hyderabad: With the State government announcing its decision to fill up 80,039 vacancies in various departments, students of Osmania University campus and constituent colleges can groom themselves for these recruitment examinations free of cost.

The university administration is putting all arrangements in place for launching its Civil Service Academy within one month. The facility which is coming up on the university campus will train students for various competitive examinations including Civil Services exams of the union Public Service Commission, Group-I, II, III, and IV recruitments of the Telangana State Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Board, other bank examinations and Telangana police jobs free of cost.

The new facility on campus can accommodate 700 students at once. Apart from the seating capacity, the academy will be equipped with huge screens for virtual interactive programmes. The university has already drawn a list of subject experts from universities who will be coaching students. The admission to this facility is strictly meant for students of campus and constituent colleges of the university who will be provided multi-purpose identity cards.

In addition to free coaching, students will have access to competitive examination preparation material in the academy free of cost.

“Works are going at a brisk pace and we will be launching the Civil Service Academy within one month. Students joining the university aim for police jobs like constables and SIs and other Group posts, but we want them to aim for UPSC Civil Services. Apart from coaching, we will be conducting awareness programmes and foundation courses. We have already listed out subject experts who can train students for these recruitment exams,” OU Vice Chancellor, Prof. D Ravinder said.
