NTA conducts JEE Mains first day, first shift

The National Testing Agency is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)–2025 at different centres across the country and 15 cities outside India

Hyderabad: The National Testing Agency conducted the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 on January 22. The first shift was from 9 am to 12 noon, in which the candidates appeared for the Paper 1 (BE/BTech).  The second shift will begin from 3 pm to till 6.30 pm.

at different centres located in various cities throughout the country and 15 cities outside India.


In the first shift of the first day, the students in some parts of the country have rated the paper as ‘moderate,’  while some say that Physics part was tough.

The exam is scheduled for January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29  for Paper 1 – BE/BTech in two shifts. On January 30,  Paper 2 in B Arch/B Planning will be conducted in a single shift in afternoon.

Admit cards for January 22, 23 and 24 have been released at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The candidates were told to keep checking the website for further updates.

Candidates need to reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit cards. They must follow a dress and exam day instructions.

Candidates must ensure that they carry only those items allowed inside the exam hall. They should make their own arrangements for the safekeeping of personal belongings, as not all exam centres may have this facility.

The candidates were asked to bring a printed copy of the admit card (all pages and preferably on colour), photographs, valid and original photo ID and other prescribed documents that will be required in the exam hall.
