Peddapalli: National Thermal Power Corporation Raising Day was celebrated at NTPC-Ramagundam on Saturday. Chief General Manager, NTPC-Ramagundam and Telangana Sunil Kumar hoisted NTPC flag at a project level function held at May Day Park in the plant. The dignitaries also cut a cake on the occasion to mark the completion of 45 years of NTPC.

Addressing the gathering, Sunil Kumar highlighted the glorious history of NTPC and its contribution in the development of the country. Even amid the pandemic, the company was performing well. The pandemic has failed to dent the spirit of NTPC in providing uninterrupted power supply to the nation. Every power station of the Maharatna company has risen to the occasion and was performing at its optimum level.

The Covid-19 crisis has underlined the significance of the power utilities, which have assumed greater significance as electricity was extremely critical in smooth functioning of several sectors of the economy, he added. CGM also threw light on the performance of NTPC-Ramagundam and progress of Telangana project besides the challenges ahead. On the occasion, the chief guest along with others presented an appreciation letter to ‘ayudha puja’ organisers.

All GMs, employees and office bearers of different unions and associations as well as contract agencies employees were present on the occasion while adhering to the Covid guidelines.
