Hyderabad: NTT DATA Business Solutions, which is part of the NTT Group, has plans to recruit about 400 people in Hyderabad. The company has also begun an experiment to recruit people from rural areas like Adilabad through a partnership with a local startup, NTT DATA Business Solutions Managing Director and CEO Sanjeev Deshpande tells Telangana Today.

Hyderabad plans

There are about 3,000 people working in the country in the business solutions group which I head. We are growing at 15 to 20 per cent every year and we will add about 500 to 600 people this year in India. We will add about 400 people minimum in Hyderabad. We have been in Hyderabad since 2013 and we have about 2,000 people in Hitec City. The current premises can accommodate new recruits. The hiring is happening on a continuous basis. We expect the headcount to reach 3,600 this year.

Requirements and skills

We are SAP services players. We have a lot of requirements and our focus is on getting experienced people across centres. Business is growing and we need the manpower to meet our current demand. We also have space in Bengaluru, Chennai, Noida, and Mumbai. We are part of the NTT Group.

Rural focus

We have recently partnered with a startup, BDLT Labs, in Adilabad. Our partner is hiring people on our request and they are training as per our requirements. Initially, the contract for the new recruits is for six months and if they do well, we will absorb them.

Training offered

Primarily, it will be service desks, monitoring activities, help desk activities and programming. A basic degree is needed. Knowledge in MS Office and computers will help them. Business exposure will also help. If they have good communication skills and some basic skills, we will train them.

Scale up plans

We have already issued offers to about 100 people in Adilabad. This model is our first experiment. If this is successful, we will decide on the possibilities of hiring more people and also go to other locations as well. Not only us but a lot of companies will adopt this model depending on its success.
