Nursing student found dead in suspicious conditions in Kothagudem’s Julurupad

An 18-year-old nursing student was found dead behind the bathroom at her home in Vengannapalem of Julurupad mandal. Police suspect she may have been raped and murdered based on injuries and disarray of clothing, and are investigating the case.

Kothagudem: An 18-year-old nursing student was found dead under suspicious conditions at Vengannapalem of Julurupad mandal in the district.

She was studying first-year B.Sc. (Nursing) at a private college near Tanikella in Khammam district. She was said to have visited her aunt’s house in Kothagudem and returned to her native village two days ago.

When her mother returned home after visiting a relative’s house in the same village late on Tuesday evening, she found her daughter missing. When the anxious mother searched the vicinity, she found the girl lying lifeless behind the bathroom in the house’s backyard.

Given the presence of injuries on the body and the disarray of her clothing, it was suspected that miscreants might have raped and murdered her. Upon receiving information from locals, CI Srilakshmi and SI Zeenath Kumar, accompanied by their staff, visited the spot.

Evidence was collected from the site with the assistance of a forensic clues team. The body was shifted to Government General Hospital in Kothagudem for a post-mortem.

The police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family and stated that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the student’s death from multiple angles.
