Kothagudem: A nutrition centre would be set at Bhadrachalam Area Hospital to treat children suffering from malnutrition, informed District Collector D Anudeep.
He inspected the works related to the nutrition centre and a dialysis centre at the hospital on Saturday. He directed the District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Dr. Mukkanteshwar Rao to make efforts to install all the equipment sanctioned to the hospital at the earliest.
The Collector informed that children affected by malnutrition would be shifted to the Area Hospital to provide them quality treatment under the supervision of doctors. The children would be monitored regularly and arrangements would be for the stay of the children’s mothers at the hospital.
Anudeep directed the health officials to prepare and submit proposals for setting up another nutrition centre in the district in addition to the one that would come up at Bhadrachalam. The nutrition centres were being set up as it was found many new born children were underweight.
