Medak: BJP State president and Karminagar MP Bandi Sanjay has demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao observe September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day officially.

In a five page letter to the Chief Minister, Sanjay asked the State government to build a Telangana Liberation Spoorthi Centre from the funds sanctioned by the Union government. Demanding that the government complete its construction by the end of 2022, the BJP president demanded that the government honour the families of people who died or fought against Razakars. He also underlined the importance of including stories of people who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana Liberation Movement, in text books.

Addressing a gathering as part of his Praja Sangrama Yatra at Rangampet in Medak district on Sunday, Sanjay alleged that Chandrasekhar Rao was not responding to public issues even though the recent rains had damaged crops across the State. The State is not utilising the funds sanctioned by the Centre,” he added.

BJP leaders Vijayashanthi and others were present.
