Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the Ganesh idol immersion procession was going on peacefully in the city under the watchful eyes of the police. Anjani Kumar, along with other officers visited Charminar, MJ Market and Hussain Sagar to oversee the procession and the immersion process.
“The procession is going on smoothly and all the officers will be on alert till the last idol is immersed. People should cooperate with the police officers and not believe in any rumours,” the Commissioner said.
He said the procession was being monitored from the command and control centre at the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s office by a team of officers. Similarly, senior police officers were present in different zones to guide field level officers.
Anjani Kumar said around 21,000 police personnel were on duty to oversee the immersion of idols taking place at different places.
