Hyderabad: Offices are getting transformed to support collaboration and connectivity to a greater degree than ever before. Workplace designs are bring adjusted and recalibrated.
Developers, to eliminate the fear of the pandemic among occupiers, are revamping their existing and upcoming buildings with the technology enhancements like smart security and visitor access control, biometric face recognition, smart elevator programming, and touchless systems, said a whitepaper brought out by industry body Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HySEA) and real estate consultancy CBRE.
Developers are renovating the lobbies with greenery, adding more collaborative or shared event spaces and upgrading the hygiene standards of the buildings to eliminate the ‘pandemic’ fear. Other steps include improving indoor air quality by the installation of UV air filtration and upgrading air ventilation, including a biophilic interior design and enhancing outdoor landscaping to improve employee comfort and reduce anxiety, adding health and wellness facilities such as gym, showers, bicycle tracts and creating containment rooms with separate air circulation to isolate suspected employees.
The transformation of offices to suit employee requirements in view of the pandemic is likely to last. As the business environment is likely to continue to improve, increased adoption of technology, hybrid workplaces, hub-and-spoke models, flexible workspaces is expected to shape the next phase of working across India, particularly in Hyderabad.
Offices should offer enough value that people would choose physical workspaces over virtual settings, it said. However, virtual work offers employees the flexibility to balance other goals and ambitions outside their professional lives.
