Officials arrange sign boards hours after Medak accident that claimed seven lives

Medak: Hours after the seven persons died in a road accident at Usirikepally, the R&B officials arranged multiple sign boards overnight at the accident site to alert the road users about the ongoing road works on the stretch.

The R&B department is carrying out road widening works on the Narsapur-Veldurthy road. A culvert was being constructed across a stream and vehicular traffic was being diverted via a narrow earthen road.

However, the locals said that there were no signboards until the accident occurred on Wednesday.

Guguloth Nam Singh, the car driver lost conrol of the vehicle while crossing this narrow stretch and hit a roadside tree before th vehicle plunged into the stream.

Local people says the car passengers would have survived if the car did not plunge into the stream. While the car driver survived he lost his wife and daughter and five other close kin in the incident.

As the postmortem for the dead bodies was completed on Thursday, many relatives and kin thronged the area hospital in Narsapur.
