Karimnagar: Forest officials from different parts of the erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts on Saturday visited the Miyawaki forest (Yadadri Model Project-I, II) developed at the City Police Training Center here.
Forest officials led by Chief Conservator of Forests, Warangal circle, MJ Akbar extensively toured project-I, II and studied methods followed to supply fertiliser and water through the drip system.
Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy explained to forest officials about the steps taken to grow Miyawaki forests in a big way.
Forest officials from Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Warangal, Janagaon, Karimnagar, Sircilla, Peddapalli and Jagitial areas visited the PTC wherein 12,500 saplings were planted in one acre in project-I and 14,800 trees were planted in 1.4 acres. 33 types of trees were planted.
Speaking on the occasion, MJ Akbar opined that Karimnagar police training center is competing with Forest College and Research Center, Gajwel. Moreover, it has become a study center for forest department officials.
