Hyderabad: The Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Executive Officer Bhavani Shankar has suspended two officials and issued charge memos to two others in connection with irregularities pertaining to the missing temple coins case.

Assistant Executive Officer Raghu Babu has also been served a show cause notice in the matter. Orders to this effect were issued late on Friday night.

Following reports in a section of the media about gold and silver coins missing from the publicity section, the temple management constituted a committee to examine and analyse the irregularities. The committee subsequently submitted its report to the management.

Based on the findings, the Executive Officer ordered the suspension of Junior Assistant P Ramachandra Shekar and Record Assistant T Lakshmi for negligence of duty. Superintendents K Natraj and K Sitaramacharyulu were issued charge memos for poor supervision.

The missing gold coins episode triggered widespread condemnation from various sections, with many demanding stern action against those involved in the irregularities.

According to reports, 18 gold coins and 48 silver coins were found missing from the temple. The issue came to light after the accounts section noticed a mismatch between the cumulative total of coins recorded and the physical stock available in the publicity section.

The temple management has initiated measures to recover the missing coins.
