Warangal: Stating that the State government is implementing the Mana Ooru- Mana Badi programme with an aim of creating best infrastructure and providing quality education in the government schools, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister and member of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on programme, Errabelli Dayakar Rao has warned the officials concerned against the negligent approach towards the implementation of the Mana Ooru- Mana Badi programme.
Addressing a meeting with the officials of both the Warangal and Hanamkonda district along with the elected representatives here on Friday, Dayakar Rao said that the State government was implementing this ambitious scheme for the help of the poor students studying the government schools. “One third of the schools have been selected for the scheme considering mandal as a unit,” he said and added that 176 schools had been selected against the total of 492 schools which include 84 primary, 18 upper primary and 74 high schools in the Hanamkonda district.
“While there are a total of 645 schools in Warangal district, 223 schools have been selected for this novel programme. They include 123 primary, 20 upper primary and 80 high schools. About 70 per cent of the students would be covered with the selection of these 35 per cent schools,” he added.
“Under this programme, every school will be provided with uninterrupted water supply, toilets, electricity, drinking water, furniture, compound walls, kitchen sheds, additional class rooms, and digital libraries in addition to taking up the repairs. The old buildings will be renovated,” the Minister said.
The Minister has also stressed the need for wide publicity on the scheme so that the people, the school alumni of the respective villages, traders, donors, village elders, village public representatives and NGOs are fully aware of it, and come forward to improve the facilities,” Dayakar Rao said and added that the suggestions of the MLA of the respective Assembly constituency would be considered for the successful implementation of the programme.
He hoped that the Telangana schools would become ideal for the country soon with the implementation of the Mana Ooru- Mana Badi. Meanwhile, Errabelli, who also conducted a review meeting with the officials of the Jangaon district, said that 176 schools against the total of 508 schools in 12 mandals of the Jangaon district had been chosen for the programme. Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, East MLA Nannapuneni Narnder and others attended the meeting.
