Old age pension for artists hiked in Telangana

Hyderabad: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for increasing the monthly old age pension of artists from Rs.1500 to Rs.3016. The revised pension will come into effect from June 2, Telangana State Formation Day, he said.
The Minister, who held a meeting with cultural department officials here on Thursday, said the Chief Minister was a litterateur and art lover and respects artists a lot. The decision to increase the monthly pension from Rs.1500 to Rs.3016 will benefit 2,661 artists across the State, he said.
