Hyderabad: International passengers in Hyderabad from at-risk and other countries who tested positive for Omicron variant are recovering on time.
While these are still early days, senior health officials who are tracking the recoveries and health condition of the Omicron positive cases in Hyderabad said so far, none of them have reported any kind of complicated symptoms.
A total of 41 international passengers have tested positive for Omicron variant, of whom 10 have already recovered on time in Hyderabad. In fact, most of the patients do not have any symptoms after testing positive for Covid-19 due to Omicron variant, health officials said.
Based on the ongoing Omicron surge in Europe, US and South Africa, the public health officials here are anticipating that there will not be a significant jump in hospitalisations, which was the case during the Delta variant. Authorities also pointed out that even among individuals who are hospitalised, they are expecting them to recover quickly, which was not the case during the second wave.
Doctors pointed out that countrywide, so far a majority of the international passengers who had tested positive for Omicron variant are recovering. Overall, 415 international passengers in the country had tested Omicron positive out of which already 115 were discharged in various states. “It is still too early to predict anything on severity or recoveries in Telangana. However, at present the signs are very encouraging, as all the Omicron positive passengers are recovering, stable and do not have symptoms,” health officials here said.
