Hyderabad: The Chandanagar Police, along with the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Madhapur Zone, arrested a man and seized 1,170 grams of Alprazolam allegedly meant for adulterating toddy on Sunday.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Goundla Bala Murali Krishna (38) of Vemana Reddy Colony in Chandanagar. Two others — Ravi Teja and Sai Sudhakar — are absconding.


Police said Murali Krishna runs a toddy shop in Doulatabad village of Medak district along with Sudhakar and associates. He reportedly sourced Alprazolam from the absconding accused Ravi Teja, paying Rs 3 lakh per kg.

Police also seized a car and a mobile phone used in the offence.
