Hyderabad: The Uppal police have booked a case against one Kalu Singh on charges of promoting religious enmity through a speech he allegedly made on Sunday.

In a video of the speech, Kalu Singh made provocative statements referring to an incident at Uppal. The video was posted on social media platforms and was shared widely. The police invoked Sections 153, 153A, 504, 505 (2) of the IPC and are investigating.

Another case was booked against one person, Kaleem for circulating the video on YouTube and Facebook.

The speeches were reportedly on an accident in Uppal on Sunday, in which one person was injured. Right wing parties termed it a murder attempt on the person, a member of a cow protection committee, while the police said it was a road accident.
