Hyderabad: At least one person was killed and few others sustained serious injuries when a couple of houses collapsed due to heavy rains at Ghousenagar near Umdasagar in Bandlaguda on Tuesday evening. The condition of two of the injured persons was stated to be serious.
According to the reports, the incident happened around 10 p.m when the houses collapsed with a thud. The area is inaccessible as it is located very close to the Umda sagar tank and the local rescue teams are facing problems in reaching the spot.
The Chandrayangutta police along with the local people managed to shift a few persons to the hospital. Teams of the GHMC Disaster Management Wing are on the way to the spot to take up the rescue operation.
