Visakhapatnam: Drugs control administration on Monday took into custody one person involved in black marketing of COVID drugs. Assistant Director of Drugs Control Administration in the district K. Rajita said on Tuesday that on information that a person named Santosh kumar is doing black marketing of COVID drugs, the Drugs control Administration made decoy operation and contacted him on phone. It requested for Amphotericin B and Remdesivir injections.
Santosh Kumar had offered Remdesivir injections for Rs 7000 per vial and when he came to hand over the vials, he was taken into custody with the help of Vigilance and Enforcement officials.
Later, a search was conducted at the premises of Santosh Kumar in Pithapuram Colony and 11 varieties of drugs used to treat symptoms of COVID including Antibiotics like Azithromycin and Doxycycline were seized.
