Hyderabad: The Bachupally police arrested a man for allegedly circulating counterfeit currency notes on Sunday. The police seized counterfeit currency notes with a face value of Rs 15 lakh from him.
The arrested person, Prathipati Prem Chandu, a resident of West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh and came in contact with Rakesh, a resident of Pune in Maharashtra.
“Rakesh handed over the counterfeit currency notes to Chandu and asked him to circulate them in the market, assuring him of paying a commission. On a tip-off, we caught him and seized the property,” said Bachupally Inspector, Upendar Rao.
A case was registered.
