Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force along with the Abid Road police busted an online cricket betting racket and arrested one person on Tuesday. Police seized Rs.52,000 from him.
Police said the arrested person Subhash Jain, along with his associates Mohammed, a cricket bookie and Satyender Jain, an organizer, were organizing online cricket betting for a long time. “Using online betting apps, they collected bets from punters and organized the racket. All transactions were kept online to evade the police,” an official said, adding that Mohammed and Satyender Jain were absconding. Efforts were on to nab them.
