Mancherial: In a joint operation by sleuths of Ramagundam commissionerate Task Force and Prohibition and Excise department, a man was arrested for allegedly preparing adulterated toddy in Thandur mandal centre on Monday. A total of 410 litres of adulterated toddy, three kg of ammonium chloride (solid state), two kg of lemon salt, two kg baking soda, and other material were recovered from the shop.
Task Force Inspector AK Mahender said said that the accused was Dasari Manohar Goud, the organizer of a toddy centre in Thandur mandal headquarters.
On interrogation, Manohar confessed to committing the offence to make a fast buck in a short time. He admitted that he was indulging in the adulteration of toddy for quite a long time and was selling the drink to tipplers. He disclosed that he was using harmful ingredients to prepare the drink.
Task Force Sub-Inspector Lachanna and Prohibition and Excise department Sub-Inspector Nirmala Patil, Thandur SI Kiran Kumar, staffers of the task force Sampath and Baskar took part in the operation.
