Hyderabad: A senior assistant working with the Commercial Tax Department died and three others were injured in an accident at Bahadurpura on Saturday morning. According to the police, G Surendar Rao (56), a Commercial Tax Department employee along with three of his colleagues had been working on night shift.

Around 7 am, the team was returning to their office at MJ Market via Bahadurpura road in a car. “On reaching the Puranapul Darga, the driver lost control of the car, and crashed it into a tree on the roadside. Surendar Rao, who was sitting in the backseat died on the spot,” said D Venkatesham, Sub-inspector, Bahadurpura.

The police shifted the injured persons to hospital while Rao’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital mortuary. It was later handed over to his family after autopsy. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
