Hyderabad: The death toll in the firing incident at Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy district rose to two with one more person succumbing to bullet wounds.

On Monday morning, Srinivas Reddy and Raghava Reddy, both who are into real estate business, had gone to Karnamguda village in Ibrahimpatnam when someone allegedly fired at them.

While Srinivas Reddy died on the spot, Raghava Reddy sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to hospital where he passed away while undergoing treatment.

Preliminary enquiries by the police revealed that both the persons had purchased a land parcel at Ibrahimpatnam a few months ago and there were some disputes pertaining to the property. One person was taken into custody by the police for questioning.

“It is not clear what happened at the spot. Both the persons who died do not hold any weapon license. One person with whom they had purchased land was questioned but we could not get any clues so far,” said a senior official of Rachakonda police.

The police are verifying footage from surveillance cameras from BN Reddy Nagar to Ibrahimpatnam. A few more persons were questioned by the police.
