Mancherial: One more tigress has been sighted in the forests of Dubbagudem village in Kasipet mandal on Tuesday, triggering panic among locals.
Upon receiving information, Forest officials who inspected the spot of the sighting of the tiger said that a female tiger roaming in Bellampalli division might have drifted towards Kasipet in search of territory. They stated that the tiger belonging to Kumram Bheem Asifabad district strayed into the district a few weeks back.
The officials further said that steps were being taken to ensure safety and passage for the migrant tiger. They stated that they placed animal trackers to track the movement of the tiger.
As per the officials, another tigress was already inhabiting the forests of Mancherial division for quite a long time. They expected that the two female tigers might attract male tigers to the forests of the district, which would the tiger population in the region increase. A male tiger has been living in the neighbouring Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.
