Hyderabad: One person died while another sustained injuries in a road accident at Kothur, around 40 km from Hyderabad on Friday night.

Ahmed Khan (25), a resident of Subhanpur in Maheshwaram mandal in Ranga Reddy district was going in a Swift car along with a friend on Friday night. On way to Kothur from Maheshwaram, Ahmed who was driving the car rammed the vehicle into an electric pole.


“Ahmed who was driving the car reportedly swerved the steering in his bid to avoid a stray dog that ran across. Apparently, he lost control over the vehicle and hit an electric pole resulting in serious injuries. He died on the spot,” said Mohd Sayeed, sub inspector, Kothur police station.

On information the police reached the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. The injured was shifted to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

A case is registered by the police and investigation is going on.
