Siddipet: The attempt of two Bidar citizens to cross a stream that was in full flow ended on a tragic note as one of them was swept away in the Narinja stream while locals managed to rescue the other at Buchinelli village in Zaheerabad mandal on Wednesday.
According to residents of Buchinelli, two bike-borne persons had tried to cross the stream, which was in full flow, between Ghanpur and Buchinelli. They were Mohd Shakeer (40) and Mohd Ismail (60), residents of Bidar town in the neighbouring Karnataka.
The villagers said they tried to cross the stream even though they had warned the duo not to make any such attempts. Shakeer was swept away by the surging waters and efforts were on to trace him. Ismail, who was rescued, was undergoing treatment in an area hospital in Zaheerabad.
